Note from the Pastor

My brothers and sisters,
Greetings from St. Andrews in Southern California. I am here praying for all of you and so wish that I could be there to share this message with you in person. As you know, for the past 11 years, Tony Moreno has been a life giving and extremely valuable member of our Ministry Team. His work, first with the youth, and more recently with the entire community, has been a source of blessing for so many. I, and our entire community, could not be more grateful for the time, effort and love that Tony has shared with us all in his ministry here at St. Anne’s.
Looking ahead, however, the role that Tony has undertaken as Pastoral Associate, is ever evolving and expanding, especially in a parish of our size.With this in mind, Tony has undertaken a prayerful period of discernment to determine whether or not he sees himself growing along with this developing role of parish leadership. I could not be more grateful to Tony for his prayerful and honest discernment in this regard. Tony has now come to a place, after extensive discussion with me, our Parish Administrator Donna Ferrer, and a number of his family and friends, where he now feels the Lord inviting him to something new. Tony has informed Donna and I that he will no longer be available for ministry in his role as Pastoral Associate of St. Anne’s beginning August 1st.
We are all going to miss his presence on our Ministry Team and amongst the ministries of the community, but we trust in the Lord who now promises to bless Tony’s new path and us, the Team and community, that he leaves behind.Tony goes with our love and prayers, and we ask the Lord to bless him in abundance. Please keep our Team and parish in your prayers as we all now adjust to this dramatic news. If you would like to take a moment to say goodbye to Tony, and share with him in person your love and prayers, please join us next Sunday, August 4th at 2:00pm in St. Anne’s Hall where we can enjoy a potluck lunch together with our beloved brother, Tony Moreno.

Mis Hermanos y Hermanas,
Saludos desde San Andrés en el sur de California. Estoy aquí orando por todos ustedes y deseo poder estar allí para compartir este mensaje con ustedes en persona. Como saben, durante los últimos 11 años, Tony Moreno ha sido un miembro vital y extremadamente valioso de nuestro Equipo Ministerial. Su trabajo, primero con los jóvenes, y más recientemente con toda la comunidad, ha sido una fuente de bendición para muchos. Yo, y toda nuestra comunidad, no podríamos estar más agradecidos por el tiempo, el esfuerzo y el amor que Tony ha compartido con todos nosotros en su ministerio aquí en Santa Ana.
Mirando hacia el futuro, sin embargo, el papel que Tony ha asumido como Asociado Pastoral, siempre está evolucionando y expandiéndose, especialmente en una parroquia de nuestro tamaño. Con esto en mente, Tony ha emprendido un período de discernimiento en oración para determinar si se ve o no creciendo junto con este papel en desarrollo del liderazgo de la Parroquia. No podría estar más agradecido con Tony por su discernimiento honesto y sincero a este respecto.Tony ha llegado a un lugar, después de una extensa discusión conmigo, nuestra Administradora Donna Ferrer, y varios de sus familiares y amigos, donde ahora siente que el Señor lo invita a algo nuevo. Tony nos ha informado a Donna y a mí que ya no estará disponible para el ministerio en su papel de Asociado Pastoral de Santa Ana a partir del 1 de Agosto.
Todos vamos a extrañar su presencia en nuestro Equipo Ministerial y entre los ministerios de la comunidad, pero confiamos en el Señor que ahora promete bendecir el nuevo camino de Tony y nosotros, el Equipo y la comunidad, que él deja atrás.Tony va con nuestro amor y oraciones, y le pedimos al Señor que lo bendiga en abundancia. Por favor mantengan a nuestro Equipo Ministerial y la Parroquia en sus oraciones ya que todos nos adaptamos a esta dramática noticia. Si desea tomarse un momento para despedirse de Tony y compartir con él en persona su amor y oraciones, únase a nosotros el próximo Domingo, 4 de Agosto a las 2:00pm en el Salón Santa Ana, donde podremos disfrutar de un almuerzo compartido juntos con nuestro querido hermano Tony Moreno.
