Mission Statement: The Order of the Daughters of Isabella is a charitable organization of Catholic women founded on the principle of the motto: UNITY, FRIENDSHIP, and CHARITY.We come together as a sisterhood to uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church, bring spiritual benefits to our members and contribute to the common good. By our faith we are called to serve, inspire and are challenged to do God’s work. We are committed to fostering individual participation by way of mutual understanding, charitable activities and social interaction. As we strive for the development of all that is best and truest in womanhood, we merge in our communities as a positive influence to uphold the high ideals of life and morals.
History: The Daughters of Isabella began in 1897 when women in New Haven Connecticut formed a Ladies auxiliary to the Knights of Columbus. We took Queen Isabella as our patroness because of her involvement with Christopher Columbus.
About: We are Catholic women 16 years of age and older, who adhere to our motto: UNITY, FRIENDSHIP, and CHARITY. We uphold the teachings of the church in our fundraising events which support the church and our brothers and sisters in need.
Meetings: The Daughters of Isabella meet the first Tuesday of the month in the Dominican Hall (with the exception ofAugust and July).
