As part of the “Faith” Student Learning Expectation, school staff encourages students to develop a personal relationship with God through Church teachings, Scripture, and Traditions. They create opportunities for students to actively participate in prayer, liturgies, and the sacraments and to demonstrate Christian values in daily life.
Saint Anne’s Catholic School supports a policy of total education for its students with the Catholic religion as its center and foundation. As a Catholic school, we are committed to the formation of Christian values as well as academic excellence. This commitment challenges students and parents to participate in the formation of a positive and moral learning environment. Service to others is another goal for each student and community service activities are promoted at every grade level.
Sacrament preparation is offered to students through their regular school day program. In addition, parents of children who are preparing to receive a sacrament attend religious education classes and retreats. These are presented by the Religious Education Department at Saint Anne’s Parish. These classes bring parents into the faith education equation, affirming them that they are the primary educators of their children.
Every Wednesday the students participate in a Mass that is lead by students. This gives the students the opportunity to learn the structure of the mass, the meanings behind the liturgical seasons, and how a faith community is formed. Students take messages from each week’s Gospel and Homily back to the classroom for activities or class discussions. In addition, throughout the year mass families will organize and participate in various liturgical events and activities. Parents are also welcome to attend liturgical celebrations.
Students at Saint Anne’s Catholic School are encouraged to participate in sports activities that support our Catholic values. Saint Anne’s offers students the opportunity to participate on several sports teams through the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO). As participants in CYO, many of our students are actively involved in Cross Country, Basketball, and Volleyball. Each practice and competition begins with prayer. Coaches focus on teamwork and understanding while helping students develop their gifts. For more information please see the parish page: https://stanneslodi.org/cyo
