Mission Statement: The Mission of The Legion of Mary is to glorify God and to become instruments of the Holy Spirit through a balanced program of prayer and service. You do not need any special talent or knowledge, just a strong desire to grow in faith and love of Jesus. We foster a deeper devotion to Mary through the imitation of the virtues of our Blessed Mother.
History: The Legion of Mary is the largest Lay organization worldwide. This ministry was started in Ireland in 1921 by Frank Duff. It is found in Africa, Europe, Asia, the Americas and the United States.
Meetings: Our Presidium (Our Lady of Immaculate Conception) meets for prayer, planning and discussion every Tuesday at 1:30PM in the St. Anne’s Church Conference Room.
About: The Legion of Mary is open to all Catholics who faithfully practice their religion. They have a strong desire to fulfill each and every duty, which active membership of the legion involves. Here at St. Anne’s Parish, we have a Presidium under the spiritual directorship of one of our priests; he guides and supports us in our spiritual needs. Men and Women are invited to join our group. The members assist at the Masses when scheduled at the convalescent facilities. We take Communion to five nursing homes, two rehabilitation facilities, a senior citizen’s residential complex, and two homebound parishioners. We also do visitations to families in the Parish. Because of our large Hispanic community, we would appreciate our Spanish speaking members (bilingual) to volunteer and join us. You are cordially invited to attend one of our meetings.
